Polyester Fabric Lamination
Coroplast is pleased to introduce the addition of polyester laminated materials to our protective packaging product line.
Polyester laminated polypropylene sheets provide yet another cost-effective solution to our customers who need additional abrasion protection for their class "A" packaging application.
Coroplast has gone through an extensive material qualification and testing program to ensure the proper combination of process, materials and adhesion levels is well suited for our customers packaging application needs.
The following outlines some of the testing performed:
Procedure: Adhesion test
Randomly selected production samples were conditioned at 160 degrees F. Specimens were then checked for signs of delamination of the material from the substrate. No delamination was noted.
Adhesion to the substrate was then checked. Results indicate a good bond between the polyester and the PP substrate.
Utilizing the same samples as well as two previously untested samples for control, the specimens were conditioned at minus 10 degrees F. No delamination was noted.
Adhesion to the substrate was then checked. The bond between the material and the substrate remained excellent.
Conclusion
Based on the samples tested, the results indicate good adhesive integrity throughout the extreme temperature ranges.
As with all packaging applications, simulated transport testing should be conducted utilizing the actual packaging and parts to be protected as the configuration of the parts can play a significant role in the success or failure of protective packaging.
